New DNC Ads Blast McCain (And Do It Amazingly Well)

Whoa, mama. The boys over at the DNC have manned up and released two ass-stomping ads against John McCain this week. They’ve sent out an email today encouraging friends and family to forward them to one another. I’ve got to be honest; these are really, really good ads. The first is, of course, an ad that is certainly just the beginning of a long-term strategy to sink McCain on his “100 years” in Iraq quote.

Dean Expects to Seat Florida, Michigan

Further confirming my theory that this whole Florida/Michigan dust-up will be decided long before the convention, Dean re-iterated today that he fully expects to seat the delegations of the two contested states. Everyone screaming about Dean’s poor leadership on this issue will be eating crow by the end of this summer. The nominee will be decided in June at which point seating the full delegations of Florida and Michigan will pose no problem for the DNC.

Pushing Hillary Out

Well, it looks like the official campaign to pressure Hillary out of the primary has begun:

* Gov. Dean believes all superdelegates should endorse by July 1st, thus sparing the party of a nasty convention fight.
* Pennsylvania senator Bob Casey endorses Obama, despite originally pledging not to endorse.
* Sen. Chris Dodd calls upon superdelegates to decide the race.
* Patrick Leahy calls on Clinton to drop out.

Clinton Says She Will Press the Delegate Issue

Hillary Clinton gave an interview to a local PBS show, Texas Monthly Talks, the other day, and though the interview won’t air on TV until next week, a clip regarding the Florida and Michigan delegates is already on-line. In it Clinton continues her case that her wins in Florida and Michigan should be counted as valid victories:

The press seems to have missed the distinction if that’s the case. The talk is that you agreed not to seat the delegation.
